Museumplein is a public space where three major Museums namely the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum along with a Concert Hall are situated. Apart from the Museums that cluster around the square, it also has all the Amsterdam essential; a playground, a skateboard ramp, an ice-skating pond during the winters, the popular I Amsterdam sculpture where tourists climb for pictures and more. Both locals and tourists can be seen milling around the area and enjoying a picnic when the weather is warm enough for it. On the third Sunday of every month, craft and food stall are set up at Museumplein while the space is also used for special events and concerts.
