Science Centre Nemo, Amsterdam Reviews
The museum is the largest scientific center in the Netherlands. It is located in Amsterdam, close to Amsterdam Central Station. It is designed by Renzo Piano architect who inspired the shape of the project from the form of yachts and boats. It was completed in 1997 and has five floors. The museum is an educational center that focuses on presenting science and technology in a beautiful educational and interactive way. Very nice place for kids and families. You can spend a good time learning about the basics of science and natural phenomena, as well as taking souvenir pictures on the slanted roof.
Very interactive and fun place to visit for all ages. The chain reaction demonstration was good fun and was clearly a focus point as all the staff directed us here upon arrival. Student discount was very nice to see and saved us a decent amount. There's a lot to see but no clear order or direction to it so it can be easy to miss things on each floor. Would definitely recommend the perspective room.
The kids did not want to leave! There are 5 stories of different categories. The best one is about water: preserving, purifying, dam building, etc. There was a very nice interactive demonstration about chain reaction. The science lab is a great way to learn about conducting experiments, even when you're 6. We all had a wonderful time.
Very well managed place. Friendly staff, ability to use lockers for stuff you brought. Ticket is valid whole day. Be prepared to be surrounded by kids 😂. A lot of practical science experiments and well exhibited information. Price is also reasonable. If you are visiting getting the Amsterdam card may be good for you. The weirdest part was a cartoon video on how kids develop from 7 to 15 due to hormones. Appreciated the non-censorship. Science as it should be.
Absolutely fantastic place! You could easily spend half a day here and enjoy a great lunch! Interactive experiments kept all the family, young and old occupied! Would certainly recommend for families and we will return next time we are in Amsterdam. Best place by far
