Shelter City Hostel Amsterdam, Amsterdam Reviews - Write a Review
Very friendly staff, decent hostel located in an incredible location. The hostel was on the better side of average, but it's fair pricing and fantastic location put it over the top. You are right in the middle of all the action and night life in Amsterdam, and in the heart of the biggest red light district in the city. Bed sheets are provided, but towels are not. Perfect spot for a college student visiting the city to crash at for cheap.
Would highly recommend to stay!! As it's in perfect location, first of all. Also room was cleaned daily. Every morning had delicious free breakfast! Staff is really friendly and always helpful. Had an issue with roommates on first night, but one of the reception guys, Chris, sorted it in a few minutes time. Apart that had no problemes at all for the rest of the stay.
Its okay in terms of value for money. Really friendly staff (mostly travelers themselves). The dorms are little congested but clean. The wifi is okay and the cafe is decent. Just be aware that the dorms are separated for sexes and they don't serve alcohol. And you need to show your pass to enter inside every time which I found to be little annoying.
I would absolutely recommend the hostel! It is located very centrally, it's clean and the staff is really nice and friendly. The breakfast tastes great and you can also buy more food and drinks at the hostels restaurant.
Very decent hostel. Friendly staff, decent facilities, good enough breakfast and coffee. This is a christian hostel not only by name- biblical quotes to be found all around, and they organize bible readings. Not being religious, this did not bother me at all. Ironically located in the red light district. Each saturday they give a free walking tour, wich is a nice touch. Tips: bring a lock for your locker and your own towel. Conclusion: it was worth staying here!
