  • Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Clean. No residents kitchen or drink making facilities. Coffee bar in day bar in the evening and drinks machine. Bikes for hire are large and heavy. Laundromat. Not as cheap as I would like but probably cheapest available. Evening meal but I didn't have it. Theatre and cinema on the other side of the building.

  • A very decent hostel. Stayed in a dorm with friends. The room was spacious and clean, and there were power plugs and lights for each bed. The breakfast was good and the area is nice.

  • Nice hostel, thought it is laid out more like a hotel than your usual youth hostel. The rooms can get exceptionally warm at night too, so fair warning if you're coming in summer! Haven't tried the food as I've unfortunately been very ill but the staff are very helpful and friendly. Had an issue with being given a non working key four times in a row before it was sorted. Not ideal lugging my bags up and down stairs when unwell after so long travelling but but their fault, just frustrating when all I wanted to do was sleep!

  • The hostel is very big, so are the rooms, which is great. However, this does have its downsides as it's not easy to meet people. The cafe is great for breakfast but the food in the restaurant is quite expensive. It's rather disappointing that a hostel would not have a kitchen for its guests (I did know this when booking), so make sure you consider this as well. The rooms are really stuffy though, the windows don't open much and it gets really hot at night. Wifi was not functional at all in the rooms, only in the lobby, and this was the case for everyone and during my entire stay. Location-wise, it's quite far east of downtown, it's at least a 15 minute cycle. Staff is great, very helpful.

  • Had a very enjoyable overnight stay. Staff were very friendly and able to help out with any problems. The room I shared was large enough and beds were quite comfortable. Shower and bathroom facicitlies were clean on arrival. Breakfast, towels and shampoo are not included but are available to purchase. Free WiFi and electricity is available throughout. Meeting new folk is easy in the large foyer and breakfast hall. Location wise, the hostel is just out of the city centre but easy enough to walk to. The only minor complaint I have is that the windows only open so far (making it harder to stay cool) and the doors seem to slam quite loudly if not held as being closed. All in all, a great hostel and worth staying if you're in Amsterdam.
