This is the closest you can drive to the Hollywood Sign, but it's not necessarily the best view - try the nearby Lake Hollywood Park for a more postcard worthy view. Getting here is a challenge - the locals block roads with road closed signs, construction cones, and caution tape. Feel free to move the cones but be prepared for some nasty looks. You must stay on the road and the entire neighborhood is a "no stopping" zone that's heavily enforced - passed multiple officers, park rangers, and parking enforcement. They too will try to discourage you from going here and write tickets on the spot.
Historic Landmark. California attraction. Bucket list for some. If you're a Californian and haven't been here, I would recommend visiting this place before the opportunity is gone. Busy during the holidays.
Great views of the city! I loved everything about this hike. Wasn't a bad hike. The last mile going up can be challenging but well worth it. I want to hike at night next time
The streets to get here remind me of European roads, narrow and curvey. I like this spot and if you climb a bit you get a great shot. Neighbors don't like visitors so be prepared for anything. There is another view point via Griffith observatory hill.
Residents try to keep you away from here but they have no authority, just ignore the signs but you have to stay on the street only those are public property! Don't walk somewhere off the street otherwise it's trespassing! But as higher you go the nicer the view. Try to walk up the Mt. Lee Drive and you'll get a astonishing view on the whole city and you can go behind the Hollywood Sign.
