Mount Alyeska is at an elevation of 2300 feet. That means great views of beautiful Alaskan landscapes at the top. That means you absolutely must take this seven minute tram ride up to the top to the Upper Tram Terminal. The climb is about 2,025 feet. Remember to look down on your way up as it is not uncommon to catch sight wildlife such as bears and deer. Once you’ve reach, seek out the viewing platform. The panorama is ridiculously beautiful - valleys of meadows and spruce trees, glittering rivers, green and white mountains. You can explore the mountain top a little too. In the winter this is a very active skiing area, and there are other attractions such as the Seven Glaciers Restaurant and the Roundhouse museum. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Anchorage itinerary 3 days.

  • Worth the money to get you to where the spectacular views are. There's a restaurant and shop at the top, and more trails to go even further up, if you're interested. Popular with hikers and mountain bikers. Plan on spending some time up top soaking it all in before you return below.

  • We have been on this tram many times and have enjoyed taking visitors with us when visiting Alaska. Excellent views all the way around. It runs every 15 minutes. Senior and military discounts are available.

  • Tram personnel don't lie, when the swing is coming, it's coming. It's a short ride "about 5-6 minutes each way", and honestly not too much to remark on. Get to see some good views, and other than that stand in a car on a wire. I believe the tickets can be pricey, but if you are already going to the top for dinner, it's built into what you're buying anyhow. Do the hike and get the free ride down, puts things in a better perspective and you get to see more of what you glide over, plus free ride down.

  • We hiked up the North face trail and took the tram down for free. It was so much fun!! Not an easy hike but the view was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit from Anchorage.

  • What a cool way to traverse this mountain. The ride was smooth and quick. It was a little bit scary for those with issues with heights.
