This is clearly a tourist trap but it is a good one. Besides, it is aimed as much as the residents of Anchorage as visitors to the city. On summer weekends 300 vendors from around Anchorage set up stalls over the 7 acre lot known as Lower Bowl. They sell everything from the freshest of local produce, second hand souvenirs galore, and exotic imports from every country around the world. The whole idea is to create an atmosphere of fun and carnivals in the city where the buildings are too widely spread out end you can't feed the crowd most of the times. The market has been going on for 25 years now and it gets better every year. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Anchorage itinerary 3 days.
- Buses 2, 8, 13, 75, 102 stop 5th Avenue & F Street WNW.
- Drive to here or take a taxi.

Whether you're visiting Alaska, a visitor being shown around by a local, or a local who's just looking for something to do, the Anchorage Market & Festival is worth a stop. You'll find a wide range of locally and regionally made products, as well as tasty food options that provide a glimpse into the amazing level of diversity we're fortunate to have in the Anchorage community. This market is open both Saturday AND Sunday, which is nice since most of the other weekend markets in the region are just open on Saturdays.
Great little market to pick up Alaskan souvenirs while traveling. Prices better than the shops downtown. Lots of hand crafted arts.
Fun to walk and shop. Lots of neat stuff and great food trucks. Umbrella covered table to dine with wet wipes at each one. My favorite Saturday lunch spot. Public restroom! No outhouses.
Fun experience! Plenty of food samples along the way as well. Easy to find free parking nearby too. I bought a pair of walrus tusk earrings for$ $40.
Definitely go here! Buyer beware though- there are people selling stuff you think is authentic Alaskan but there are "made in China" etc. stickers on the items. One guy you need to find if you like true artisan items is the Spoon man. He makes jewelry out of silverware. Some really unique pieces at reasonable prices- which make GREAT gifts for that hard to buy for person in your life. Buy a few pieces and see if he will give you a deal. Don't expect a deal on one item.
