Anchorage's climate is mostly subartic and hence the best time to visit this place is during the months from May to October.

• May to October: The months from May to September are easily the best time to visit, when there’s about 19 hours of sunlight everyday. The period from June to August is quite crowded and hence you have to book your hotel room, well in advance.
• November to February: If you do plan to come in winter, make sure you are wearing some good number of layers of woolen clothes. It freezes up there in North and it’s fun as well. There is about 5 hours of sunlight everyday and hence it makes an ideal time for skiing as well. During these months, you can also witness the stunning Northern lights.
• March-April: This is the time when Spring knocks at the door of Anchorage. The weather is mild with nights being cold. Hence, it is a perfect time to explore the city and wilderness. Moreover, this is the off season and hence a treat for budget travellers.
