Though these two lake lie adjacent to each other they are fed differently, one by a glacier, the other by snow melt. And that’s the main thing people come to see, as the different water sources give the lake dramatically different colors - azure for one, turquoise for the other. It is a six mile long hike, not difficult. There is a boulder field near the end but you can help your kids over the rocks. Landmarks you need watch out for to know you’re on the right track include a small pond, a small bridge, a boulder field and the remnants of a cabin. There are campsites around the area.
