Mchugh Creek Recreation Area - Review
The McHugh Creek flows out into the sea here at Milepost 111. It has a small but pretty waterfall and a number of small trails nearby that course through the woods to some minor viewpoints. If you want you can follow the trail alongside the creek all the way to the water’s origin at the small McHugh Lake. Rabbit Lake is close by too. But it’s enough to stick around the parking area where the picnic tables are. If you drive just a little way down the road, you come to Beluga Point. Obviously, the thing to do there is to try and catch sight of the whales.

Mchugh Creek Recreation Area, Anchorage Reviews
Great place for a day hike. There are lots of scenic over looks by the parking lots, and longer trails to hike. They have grills in the parking lots on the second level for picnics. The cost per day is $5 and there is no overnight parking. They close the gate at nine in the summer and leave it closed in the winter I believe.
This is a beautiful spot although busy most times. Thick with bears so need a gun but the hike is so pretty and we'll worth it
Nice trails up to the ridge although pretty overgrown. Beautiful view from the top.
Beautiful place, easy access, $5 day parking. Easy hiking, waterfalls, restroom, concrete stairs, picnic table and benched
Amazing spot for great views, mushroom hunting, and playing in the falls on hot days. Standard parking fees for day use. Not a camp site.
