This is a small park and it does not have much to offer. In its center is the large bronze statue monument to Captain Cook sculpted as if here were on a wooden deck on a ship at sea. It’s a little strange to find the monument here considering that Cook never actually landed at Anchorage. But the views of the water from the park’s observation deck are arresting. See the Sleeping Lady Mountain, a.k.a Susitna mountain, on the other side of the water. On a clear day you can even see the huge Denali mountain. Sometimes there are beluga whales in the water.

Resolution Park And Captain Cook Monument Reviews & Ratings
Nice view of the beach when the weather is clear. Nice quiet part of the city where you can almost avoid some of the tourist traps. Good walking distance.
I like this platform park. It's on a serious slope but the designers reinforced it with steel and sturdy wood to hold up Captain Cook statue and any visitors. The wooden platform turns a circular path for all people, including the elderly and the people confined to wheelchair mobility to access. The sunset is gorgeous over the Knik Arm and the mudflat from this perspective. A few hundred feet away are eateries and pubs. I recommend a visit.
The view here is amazing at sun set, but it's also down town so try not to be alone after watching that beautiful hour long sunset. Perfect for groups, plenty of seating. I personally sit in the railing.
Good views of Cook Inlet, and I image up towards Denali when it's clear (gray and wet when I was there). Lookout structure itself is pretty impressive (you can see everything looking down), but it's showing its age and probably needs some love. No sitting area either.
Great bike & walking access point for the Coastal Trail. Latrine needs to be improved.
