Overview of Geysir Andernach
Geysir Andernach was bored for the purpose of digging a well in 1903. It was previously called “Namedy Fizz”. It was the result of a 343-meter deep bore which in turn resulted in the world’s highest cold-water geyser. This has also been recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. The water reaches to the height of 30 to 60 meters. While the geyser did suffer some damages during the years, and was also closed for some years, it was brought back to its original glory. It is now part of volcano park, Geopark Vulkanland Eifel and has been a tourist attraction since 2006.
