The Pokagon State Park is located 5 miles north of Angola. Established in 1925, the park occupies over 1,000 acres of area. It is home to the large Lake James which comes along with a small beach. There are many trails in the park that are ideal for a good walk. It also has an inn and plenty of camping sites equipped with facilities. The state park is home to a variety of birds, including hawks, woodpeckers, loons, bald eagles, and many more. We are flying to Indiana and want to know which is the closest airport, and how do we get out to Potawatomi Inn if we don't have a car. Is there a van service?

I think there is Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport around 120 kilometers away from Pokagon State Park and Branch County Memorial Airport is around 40 kilometers. I would suggest calling Potawatomi Inn on 260-833-1077 to check if they offer or know of any transportation.

What are the horse back riding hours and how much does it cost? Is there an age limit and do parents have to go with children ages 9 and 10?

I suppose you can go horse riding anytime during the operating hours of Pokagon State Park, that is between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM. I am not very sure, but I guess it costs around 25 USD to go horseback riding. You have to be at least 8 years old to ride and double riding is not available. I suggest you confirm this once before visiting by calling on 1 260-833-2012.

I don't remember the exact figure but the entry fee for Indiana cars is around USD 7 and for out of state cars it is USD 10.
