The Kempf House dates back to 1853 and was home to the Kempf family- a German family who lived here in the 1890’s and made significant contributions to the musical growth of Ann Arbor. The house is designed in Greek Revival style with all of its original furniture, layout and even the Steinway Concert Grand Piano all placed exactly where it was more than 100 years back. The stark white house looks like it is still in pristine condition. Walk in and you feel like you have traveled back in time. The old furniture, even the bed with its original bed sheet, photographs, every object and the classic piano, all make a visit here a memorable experience.
