Antalya's broken minaret is the Broken Minaret (Kesik Minare) of the Korkut Mosque (Korkut Camii), which itself was assembled initially as a Roman sanctuary in the second century AD. Consequently in this way, it did not have a minaret whatsoever. A Byzantine chapel in distinction of the Virgin Mary was the basis of the sanctuary site in the 600s, yet seriously harmed throughout the Arab attacks of the 700s. It was repaired and extended in the 900s. The point when the Seljuk Turkish Empire of Rum took Antalya from the Byzantines, the church was changed over to a mosque and the minaret was decided to be built. It was turned into a component of the mosque once more during the reign of Åžehzade Korkut (1470-1509), who was the son of the famous Ottoman sultan Beyazit II. Later it was regarded as a position of love until 1846, when it was pulverized by an incredible fiery breakout. The sanctuary mass mosque now lays in remnants, but however, the minaret has survived.
The minaret now stands amidst a road in Kaleici (Old Antalya), and is occasionally repaired but yet not restored. It is widely regarded as a nearby interest and an advantageous and convenient landmark of the city of Antalya.
