Though it’s called a museum, its permanent exhibit is not as important as its role as a cultural centre of the Sergipe people. The small but high-tech museum makes intensive use of multimedia exhibits to recreate the scenarios and experience of what its like to be Sergipena. It covers history, festival, language, culture, craft; and even recreates a scene out of a Sergipe trade market, where you can haggle over prices. Children and adult alike will find the museum highly engaging. What permanent exhibit is there at the museum serves more as a backup to the multimedia exhibits, rather than the other way around. Best of all, it’s free!
