Not many people know that Aracaju has its own scenic cable car lift. Its location in the northern area of the city, away from conventional tourist stomping grounds, means it often gets overlooked. The cable car will take you to the top of Urubu Hill, a 630-metre ride, and from there you can follow the hill trail to the launch ramp, from where hang-gliders take to the sky. Take your pictures of the sweeping views of the city… then come back down the hill, for its time to see the zoo.

The zoo, as a part of the city park is free to visit, and has 400 animals. For the price, it’s nice enough, even though it’s not very well maintained. There are lions, jaguars, bears, monkeys and assorted birds.
