Delaware & Ulster Railroad, also known as DURR, is a historic site in New York, U.S.A. It was in 1954, that the railroad was used last by a passenger train. Over the years, the ownership of the tracks changed many times, and the track too was cut in places to make way for modern means of transport. In 2011, this heritage railroad suffered at the hands of Hurricane Irene, and its operations are limited ever since. DURR was famous for its streamline train, “Rip Van Winkle Flyer”, which was equipped with an Observation car, Tavern Lounge, Dining car, Vista dome and Baggage. You can enjoy a ride through the beautiful countryside with your family on this railroad. Your children are sure to have a great time, and you’ll definitely enjoy the view.

Delaware & Ulster Railroad Reviews & Ratings
At first I was a little disappointed. We paid a decent amount foe a ride on "Thomas the tank engine" which lasted maybe fifteen minutes. The bathroom on the train was leaking from the ceiling in a way I can only describe as Titanic style. However, the activities OUTSIDE of the train were phenomenal and totally worth the money. I get that technical issues are a thing, and I'm just glad that my kid had a blast overall. I'd definitely visit again.
Went with a group and enjoyed the scenery and the people who we dined with. The negative aspect was the tortellini primavera which was, according to my wife, like glue. Many passengers didn’t finish the meal. The beef burgundy was ok. Service was very friendly and nice. They provide water, tea or coffee so you may want to bring your own beverage. We were in the upper level which was comfortable and provided great views of the countryside.
Wonderful vintage railroad right in the heart of the Catskills, great people keeping the best parts of our history alive. Definitely check out their website for special events they have throughout the year.
It was a Thomas the tank event everything was done very professionally several tents set up for additional activities gift shop photo areas for lovely morning. Would recommend for any Thomas the tank enthusiast.
Disappointing. The all-white lunch was as flavorless as it was colorless (chicken Marsala) and that was the best part of the ride. The train speed never exceeded a moderate jog, only went maybe 10 miles and wasn’t scenic at all. Not worth $48 a person! The roadbed is in such poor shape the train swayed and rolled like a boat in a storm. I was afraid we had derailed when I lost my cutlery.
I ordered tickets on-line for Silver Sleigh ride on 12/22. How do I obtain these? My account has been charged for these tickets but received nothing by email. Please advise. Sharon MoyseAnswer Report Abuse
