The Rattlesnake Wilderness Area is situated in Montana and was created by an Act of Congress in the year 1980. The wilderness is within Lolo National Forest and is located only 4 miles (6.5 km) north of Missoula, Montana. The area is a component of the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area and generally do not allow motorized or mechanized vehicles. Bicycles however are permitted within the area which means that you can enjoy a ride within the wilderness. Fishing and camping are allowed if you have proper permit. Hunting is also allowed with appropriate permit and during certain seasons.
