Fondation Vincent Van Gogh Reviews & Ratings
Great museum. Original Van Gogh, Picasso. The former had spent a considerable amount of time in the beautiful city. And had produced over 300 paintings here. This city is quite phenomenal in the life of the Dutch post impressionist painter's life and work. Therefore, it also has very big contribution towards modern art. You can get a glimpse of that while visiting the museum. Situated in the city center, the building and the facilities are very good. I wish the staffs could be a bit more friendly. But overall a very good experience.
Nice museum but, looking at the name on the front door, I was expecting more pieces made by him: there was only one picture painted by Van Gogh himself.
This is a great place, really really interesting. It is not a Van Gogh archive (yes a few of his paintings, but also Picasso's as an example) but more in homage to his style, his legacy, how he influenced, used light and so forth. Frankly I had hiccup with tickets, opening time and so on, however the staff were so polite, kind and understanding, I could not remain annoyed for long. As it happened, we were unable to stay as long as we'd have liked, a massive shame. Put your self out; VISIT. It is not your standard museum, not your standard archive, it fun, and to me (not really an art disciple) well worth the effort.
This was great. Had a retrospective on about a dozen artists that was very interesting, including a musician and an audio artist. Fascinating. Plus the Van Goghs are worth the price of admission. Museum is very nicely laid out and ends with a rooftop terrace with practically 360 dog views of the city.
Nice place to visit on a rainy day. Things are very well explained. Staff is friendly. One star off because it opens at 11 in September. Worth the visit! Take ~2h.
