Besides flora and fauna, the Camargue Nature Park is also the preserver of history with its museum at Rousty Bridge. The Musee de la Camargue, as it is known, was created in 1979 with the aim to give a detailed background of the natural elements of Camargue Nature Park.

But that’s not all the museum offers today. The exhibits portray the early history of development of the region. The small museum perfectly captures the essence of Camargue and its life. With objects, videos, audios and photographs on display, the museum exhibits the relationship between man and nature with emphasis on the aquatic ecosystem. The museum is fun and interactive and also gives an insight into the various traditions the Gardians indulge in with their cattle.

Amidst the lovely greens of the nature park, the museum is a small refuge from the wild yet, it is a transport to the past. The Gardian collection of the museum is excellent and makes the museum worth a visit.
