Having said that, the destination is not entirely disappointing. The view of the trees itself is mesmerizing, especially during the winters when the tree tops are adorned with snow. The story of the “tower” is interesting too. The first signal tower was built in 1801 by Emperor Napoleon I, and was destroyed shortly thereafter by the Austrian army. Later, due to some or the other reason, rebuilding of the tower was not possible. However, the spot did derive its name from this story.
