French Broad Chocolate Factory And Tasting Room Reviews & Ratings
The staff is friendly and the place is pretty fun! The chocolate is well sourced and well explained which is great. The fair trade prices are very understandable but made it hard (for me) to buy much of anything (after a weekend of gratuitous spending so ok maybe that’s all on me). The chocolate itself is mostly dark chocolate, going up to 100% cacao. I’m a basic, basic person and “challenging” or “complex” chocolate is not my jam so there was not a whole lot for me there. I did absolutely dig the malted milk chocolate bar which they make with a local malt from a malt...factory? malt producer? Regardless it’s v yummy. They also have a white chocolate with lemon and coriander which I mean come on that’s just delicious yo. The facility and even the tour, are very accommodating of all abilities, sizes, and genders, complete with “all gender” bathrooms. All in all, worth a visit!
All the delicious confections you've come to expect from French Broad Chocolate Factory, with none of the downtown gridlock! Come visit their Riverside location for a more laid-back experience, replete with chocolatiering art and history!
We were really excited to try this place because the Chocolate Lounge is great. My first impression of the Factory was good, it’s a good space and the employees were really friendly. We went to check out the truffle section and we noticed dozens of flies all around the chocolates, I saw one truffle that had four flies crawling on it - we were really taken back by this because it felt really unsanitary. Also, one box of six truffles will run you about $14 which seems overpriced when you consider the flies that swarm around the chocolates all day. Overall, I probably wouldn’t return. They have decent ice cream and it was fun to check out the new shop, but the reason we went was for the chocolates (since that’s their specialty) so we were slightly disappointed.
Did a tour today with Dan. Was absolutely fabulous. Highly recommend it for chocolate lovers! A must see in Asheville, NC
This place is the go-to for a more sober night on the town. They also offer a selection of vegan chocolates, as well as have a few delicious vegan/gluten-free chocolate drinks on the menu. If you are looking for a unique gift for a loved one who loves chocolate, they also have gift boxes available.
