The Jackson Building, when it was built, was the first skyscraper in western North Carolina. It is about 15 story tall and was first opened in 1924. It has a very Neo Gothic architecture and when it was being built, it was built on a 27 x 60 foot area which was considered too tiny. Today it’s not open to public but is also as the 7th most popular tourist attraction in Asheville’s in top 10 attraction list and is considered as one of the haunted places in Asheville.
