Fukuzumiro, Ashigarashimo District Reviews

  • So very beautiful. The service was wonderful. Our helper, Mama, had good English. The food was well displayed and delish. They give the option of Western or Japanese style. Also we got there about 5:20 which is late and they were fine with it. Totally worth it. Oh, one thing to note - the baths are EXTREMELY hot.

  • Very rustic, very beautiful, very traditional. The food was amazing, the staff was exceptionally friendly, and the property was spectacular. The bath available to men at the times we were able to use them (the mornings and evenings) were not open air, and they were exceptionally hot. This was not a great onsen experience for me. Also note that the private bath has no reservation policy, you just have to wait your turn, and the bath itself is only a little bigger than a deep Western tub. Maybe two people could get themselves in there if they were very comfortable with each other.

  • Amazing experience. The kaiseki dinner was delicious. Very good Japanese food. The traditional Japanese breakfast was great. The rooms are rather big and the night on futon is a must-try. They have 2 shared onsen and a private one, which we enjoyed a lot. The only downside is the the expensive price.

  • The staff are excellent, the food is pretty good. The building is really interesting, but a little shabby in places. Enjoyed the onsen. The sleeping mats aren't good.

  • Such a beautiful place, it's like entering another world. Calm, secluded and with an impeccable service. We had a room with a private onsen. A great experience.
