Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort And Spa, Ashigarashimo District Reviews
I had some special requests and the staff were amazing at getting them done. Friendly. Great for people who don't speak Japanese as they are great at English. I was quite surprised that their dinner was as good as it was. I would recommend this hotel. Be I have been too other Hakone places and this was the nicest.
Beautiful Hotel which makes you feel very relaxed soon as you enter most people walk around in gowns. We arrived after a long flight from London so it was perfect. There is an onsen and complimentary drinks hour between 4pm-7pm. The drinks hour offers lots of alcoholic drinks and the service is very good. The rooms are very spacious only have twin beds which is very common in Japanese culture. The views from the room are very hit and miss. They offer complimentary shuttle service odawara station and also if you are dining out for the evening. The station to get the rope wire on to a ferry service on lake Ashi is very close. Of note, there is no gym on site or swimming pool. Breakfast has a good selection of western breakfast. As you expect in Japan the vegetarian options are really limited but given it’s an international chain thought they would have a pizza. English is spoken sufficiently from staff.
Best full service resort in a,beautiful part of Japan. They do a fantastic job of combining traditional Japanese ryokan experience with tatami rooms available and a relaxing onsen/hot spring baths.
While the location was a little out of the way, everything else about the hotel was fantastic. The staff was attentive, the room immaculate. We were able to get a shuttle bus to Souenzan, the ropeway station, and they offered a ride back to Odawara as well. The onsen was empty both times I went, at night and in the morning before checkout; it was pretty nice having the entire place to myself. I will note that the hotel seemed rather empty when I went (early February), but this was likely the hotel's off-season.
Great service, great rooms and bathroom, great restaurant and food.
