Aspen is blessed with nature’s bounty and one institution in the city that is dedicated to preserving the natural diversity is the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. The programs undertaken by this institution include sustainable agriculture to feed the citizens and visitors to Aspen, prescribed wildfire burns to maintain ecological balance and spreading awareness among residents about the need to preserve the diversity and green cover. The ASEC does this by the means of leadership programs for high-school students to catch the attention of the young ones in the beginning of their life. The aim is to catch them young so that they implement the principles of environment protection all throughout their life. These high-school programs take place from June to August. Besides these there are sales and other events throughout the year to celebrate the produce harvested by ASEC. The centre operates at four locations; Hallam Lake, Rock Bottom Ranch, Toklat, and Spring Creek. Visitors often spend a day around each of these properties to observe the work done by ASEC.

Aspen Center For Environmental Studies Reviews & Ratings
Wonderful adventure in the woods. Scavenger hunt was super fun!
A great place to teach kids about nature. A fun little walk around the lake area. A true nature hike as all types of wildlife inhabit the area.
Lovely place, being in Aspen, but wow it's so expensive here (the British pound is weak 😣)
Beautiful 25 acre spot nestled in the forest, knowledgable naturalists, and a visit from a young black bear to top off the presentation!
Awesome place to see some Rocky Mountain animals. There is a nice self guided trail and plenty of spots to take in the view along the way. Great for any occasion really:)
