Thinking of ambling under the tree cover with nowhere in particular to go? Head to the Woody Creek Trail. Many of the visitors on this track explore it till the Marcy and McNamara huts. But the real beauty and tranquillity of this trial is seen once you cross these huts. You can catch glimpses of the Hunter-Fryingpan and Maroon Bells wilderness from the elevations in this trail. The Spruce Creek Trail on the other hand runs about meadows where you can see wildlife and certain specimens of flora in their natural state. Both the routes can be quite daunting so only experienced hikers should try and scale it. Not all people on this trail attempt to hike from one end to another, so you will often find people relaxing by the creeks and meadows. You can also set up camp in these spots and spend the night here.

Woody Creek-spruce Creek Trail Reviews & Ratings
Great trails! We hiked to Lower Mohawk and timed it to come down around dusk to catch more wildlife. Didn't see anything but would totally do this hike again and start earlier to catch all the lakes.
Fantastic nature. It's a beautiful hike. Be ready to bring proper boots, gloves, and DEET spray. Also sunglasses are advised. Keep an eye on the weather forecast. I hiked up to wheelers Creek and I took roughly 4 hours. Bring sufficient water as you will be sweating a lot. The trail is best between end of May and beginning of September.
A moderate to difficult trail with lots of nice scenery. A popular place, considering how the road leading up to the trailhead was packed with cars. The mosquitoes were absolutely relentless, especially in the lower areas, and I’m glad we packed lots of bug spray. As long as you’re prepared, I’d highly recommend hiking here.
It's a long trail, but not too difficult if you give yourself time. I'd recommend also bringing an oxygen can :)
Great trails. Plenty of parking. There are a lot of options. Also access to fishing.
