Located at the Assisi Square is the Basilica di Santa Chiara which is included in the list of most sacred places in Assisi. The church dates back to the 13th century and is known for housing the relics of St. Clare. Some of the most striking features of this basilica are its terrace like piazza, facade, and windows. Although the church was built typically in a Gothic style, you can also see the glimpse of Romanesque architecture on it. The church walls were covered with frescoes that gradually faded with time.
