Located on the southwest end of the Windermere Lake, James Chabot Provincial Park acquired its name from the MLA for Columbia-Revelstoke (1963-1986) James Chabot. Nestled between the towering peaks of the Purcell and Rocky Mountains, this enchanting day-use park attracts tourists for its shallow and clean beach. The broad sandy beach is contrasted by the open grassy play area. Sitting by the lakeside, fishing or taking a stroll through the water and dipping your feet in it will give you a soothing experience. If you are an adrenaline junkie then there are opportunities for windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and so on. The adventure playground also has a Volleyball Court. The picnic areas are equipped with 40 picnic tables, stretched sandy beach and parking stalls. Take a hike and enjoy the wildlife.

Very nice park with great access to the beach. A little more chill than the nearby Kinsman park. There was a great playground for our son and the beach was nice and sandy. There's a really nice area of grass that's very close to the beach and i was able to park my blanket under a nice tree where i watched my boy enjoy the sun, sand, and water
Not as busy as Kinsmen beach because the beach is mostly rocks and the swimming area is shallow. It does have a great park though and a change room and parking usually isn't an issue. Great place for a picnic, but if you want to swim Kinsmen is a better option.
Nice beach with good sand but the water so bad that you can't eat the fish out of the lake and it's so busy you can barely find a place to lay your towel. it's a good place to hang out and see the views in the off seasons during the winter it's much quieter and the lake area is much more taken care of
Great place to cool off in record hot weather. Good access lots of parking. Excellent facilities as well.
It looks very nice, big and clean surroundings. Would be nice to spend more days here and do some kayaking or paddle boarding. Too bad the vacations are always limited.
