Sprawling over an area of 5000 hectares, the Peshtigo River State Forest borders the pristine sections of the Peshtigo River. It is a paradise for anglers as the falls as well as the riverbeds are home to a huge variety of fishes. The free-flowing portion of the river is excellent for fly-fishing while the white-water rapids give the adrenaline junkies a perfect opportunity for rafting, kayaking and canoeing. The riverside forests offer some fantastic campground locations too. 15 Boat Landings are there to enjoy a leisurely boating experience on the river. If interested, then take a tube and float down the reservoir. The hiking trails through the forest are naturally awesome with the opportunities of native wildlife encounters.

Peshtigo River State Forest Reviews & Ratings
Has a place in my heart
Beautiful river! Nice for kayaking. Love the water access campground. Haven't camped there, but often stop there to have lunch while kayaking. Easy in and out at boat landing. Beautiful natural shorelines.
Beautiful state run park. My family and I have been renting out one of the island sites for years now and every year it's a blast. The fishing above the falls is much better than the river but every day we caught something.
The Peshtigo River State forest runs from the North State line near Niagara to Green Bay, over 100 miles. The hunting and fishing is great. The forest has many water access camp sites and beautiful island camp sites. There are several sites along the was white water areas of the river for people making longer float trips. The PROF is a gold mine for North woods adventurers. Just Google it and check out the gold mine that is the PRSF.
Great place to be with family and friends. Scenery is amazing.
