People who are well aware with the cityscape of Athens know that the city is strewn with monuments and sights that look as if they have been straightly taken out of fairytales. One such site is the chapel of Agios Giorgios, located on the summit of Lykavittos hill. This little Greek Chapel can be best visited during daytime but what is more mesmerizing is to view it at night when it is floodlit. You can actually capture this chapel in your camera especially at the time when it is beautified by dramatic lights. However, standing near it during the daytime will offer you beautiful and picturesque views of the city and beyond.

  • Nice place. Very calm compare to acropole

  • A quaint small church with probably the best views from the hill top. Lovely paintings inside and an stunning silver relief of St George slaying the dragon. If you up the hill for the view, visit the church and leave a donation and light a candle if you like.

  • Small church on top of the hill with views of the city

  • Tiny church, only the city view outside the church is interesting.

  • Super view of Athens. Tiny old Orthodox Church. Ok restaurant to recover from the climb. Optional easier cable car up. Worth it.
