Filopappos/Philopappos hill is another lovely hill from which you can see the city of Athens in all its glory. Not only that, the place also has the Philopappos monument as well as a few other ruins that are certainly worth seeing. Interestingly, it is a mystery as to when the monument was damaged since it was never recorded.

Lying towards the southwest of the Acropolis, the hill is very popular with the locals but is quite crowded with tourists too during the tourist season. If you want to avoid the tourists, the best time to visit it is in the winter and if your holiday is around November do make sure to take a leisurely walk around this place to take in the sights and sounds of this archaic city.
