  • The flea market is just what you'd expect... A great variety of this and that. Trinkets, Greek artwork, nifty souvenirs, novelty items, fashion and clothing. New and used there's a bit of everything. All of the shop keepers I dealt with were very friendly, and a good majority of them were willing to haggle and make a sale. Definitely the most fun shopping I had in all of Athens. And I would definitely return here on my next trip to Athens!

  • Been to several flea markets and this has to be one I enjoyed the most (I don't particularly like going to flea markets). Merchants aren't pushy, they politely ask you to look around in their stores. Monastiraki is extremely busy, so don't get overwhelmed by crowded streets. I strongly advise to shop around and compare prices before buying. You just might get a better deal a few stores away for the same item you're looking for.

  • I love walking and looking at things they sell. My favorite every time I come to Athens are the used books. They have English and Greek. Didn't search for other languages

  • Located in a very lively neighborhood, the flea market is full of different options... Souvenirs but also great handmade stuff (ceramics, olive wood art-craft, etc.). Lots of places to have a bite and try local food aswell.

  • If you have visited another World Oriental flea market it is one more like C/P. You may experience it or just walk to next streets. Anyway since there is a high level organised turism follow their advices or you may have a local friend to go together.
