Athens is replete with studios and galleries that render a rich contemporary culture to the city. This museum is the studio as well home of a significant 20th-century Greek painter and set designer Spyros Vassiliou (1902–1985). Today, it has been converted into an all inclusive museum that holds his works of art. Some of the exhibits here consist of his celebrated paintings depicting urban Athens, theatre sets, his artist’s tools and illustrations from literary journals and newspapers.
