The Loom has lots of inventory! I was able to explain what I was looking for and was quickly presented several rugs. The Loom is taking care of shipping the rugs to the US, making it easy for me to enjoy the rest of the time in Greece. Wonderful, welcoming staff.
Theo and his brother were warm and welcoming. I chose a gorgeous carpet from kalamata and it was waiting for me by the time I returned home from my travels. Great selection at the shop, good price and friendship to match. Theo is a business man, but he's genuine. Thank you!
Probably the greatest shopping experience I have ever had. Vahan and the boys are great - with an impeccable selection of carpets and tapestries and probably more. Vahan is so hospitable, friendly and passionate about all the handmade tapestries and the quality of all their goods. I didn’t feel any hostile pressure to buy anything (although I totally did) - just to appreciate the beauty. I now know that for every trip I make to Europe - I’ll need to stop in The Loom in Athens to make it worth it. Thanks Vahan!
Family owned rug shop manned by two cousins that will treat you like family. Great choices for all budget ranges, very affordable, and shipping to the US as well.
I cannot say enough amazing things about Vahan and Theo and their shop "The Loom" in Plaka, Athens. I spent a few weeks travelling around Greece looking for rugs in Athens and on the islands. When I read the reviews of their RAVING FANS on Trip Advisor and Facebook I knew I had to visit their shop. Prior to arriving, I spoke with Vahan and told him what I was looking for. He quickly assessed my needs and style. When I arrived a few days later they were waiting with a glass of wine and a pile of items they had pre-selected for me! I am well-traveled and I live in NY (great assortment of shops), I've not seen such a wide variety and large inventory in any single store. Better than all of this- they take PRIDE in customer SERVICE, quality, HONESTY, patience, and KNOWLEDGE of their product. I went for 2 rugs, left with 6 amazing rugs and a friend for life!
