Offering a magnificent city view, the Tower of Winds or the Horologion of Andronikos Of Kyrrhos stands with its own aura in Roman Agora. The Tower of Winds is a Pentelic marble clocktower with an octagonal shape. It serves as a timepiece or the horologion and boasts of being the first meteorological station in the world. Locally known as the Aeridis, the tower is equipped with sundials, wind vane and water clock. The construction date is controversial; while some say it was built in 20th century B.C, some state that Andronicus of Cyrrhus built it during 50 B.C.
