About Atlanta History Center, Atlanta
This historic centre preserves quite a rich heritage. It has twelve exhibits six of which are permanent. These include the Centennial Olympic Museum; the Turning Point, an American Civil War Exhibition; Metropolitan Frontiers, Chronicling the expansion of Atlanta; Shaping Tradition, on Southern folk art; Down the Fairway with Bobby Jones, on the history of golf in the USA; and Philip Trammell Shutze: Atlanta Classicist, Connoisseur, and Collector.
The grounds also have a few historic houses including the Tullie Smith House, the Swan House and the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum. It’s a nice visit. At the Smith Farm the there are two guides who’ll remain in historic character as you direct questions at them. And for Hunger Games fans’, there’s even a Capitol tour, because if you’ll remember, the Swan House was used in Catching Fire. Atlanta History Center is one of the attractions in 3 Days in Atlanta itinerary. Must visit this awesome attraction.

Atlanta History Center, Atlanta Reviews - Write a Review
A superb interactive informative museum-the sections for Atlanta and the Civil War are simply awesome! Well thought of exhibits engage and immerse you - a few hours felt like few minutes! Unfortunately, the houses weren't open today, but we had a tremendous time at the Center. The cafe is also great. Definitely, a must do for visitors to Atlanta!!
I was blown away by the sheer amount of activities to do here. The Swan House, nature trails, 7 exhibits, Olympic Museum, Cyclorama, Tullie Plantation, Cabin and play houses dotted across the property. Definitely plan at least 3-4 hours to be able to experience all that is offered here.
The Atlanta History Center has the best exhibits. It has the BEST Civil War collection I have ever seen. As a historical reenactor I have seen many. The two houses are wonderful living histories. I in almost 20 years have never had a bad experience when visiting the Atlanta History Center.
Thoroughly enjoyed. Vietnam Exhibit is impressive. Beautiful buildings
We really enjoyed the "living history" experience with the actors that told stories in the Gatheround section. Don't let the small size of the exhibit areas fool you - there is a lot to see! And the cafe area has the freshest menu with flavorful soups and salads.
