A great spot to view the lakeshore, Lake Superior Historical Marker at Scott Falls Roadside Park is an easily accessible recreational spot with a small hike offering beautiful waterfalls. The spot also has a beach for swimming and the sunset from the spot is worth watching. With cool waterfalls on one side and Lake Superior on the other, this place is a must-visit for anyone who is planning to visit Au Train.
Lake Superior Historical Marker Reviews & Ratings
We have to stop at the lake Superior shore everytime we pass by. Scott falls is one one of our favorite access points. Only a slight slope down to the water (no stairs like some of the other parks), beautiful sand, a rock cliff/rock wall at the East end of the beach. Across the street is the tiny but nice Scott falls. If you are from the city, don't miss the hand-pumped fresh water well. Kids (of all ages) love to draw their own water!
Great beach, nice stream flowing into superior if your kids like to dam streams. See if you can find the face in the rocks, it is getting pretty worn. If wind is not from the north, nice place to paddle board and look at the rocks along the east side of the cove. Go across the streat and see the little falls. Kids loved the beach, even wind surfed here.
You can at least say you put your toes in the water here! It is by far the coldest of the Great Lakes.
Beautiful place to go with Family and friends! If you are on your way to a certain place and this is along the way I would definitely stop for a short break to swim, walk, or just enjoy the scenery and learn some history.
Easy to pull in and out of from highway M28. There is a drinking water fountain, ADA approved restrooms with a sugar sand beach on Lake Superior with fabulous views and sunsets are especially spectacular from this view point.
