Auckland Botanic Gardens, Auckland Reviews
Just heading into spring and the sky is a little grey and rainy. Not so many people which is good. Plenty of buds but not many flowers and the birds are out in force. The only real downside is the constant noise of the motorway but there's not really anything to be done about that. The various areas are nicely laid out with a range of different tracks, paved, metalled, dirt, and plenty of green open spaces to walk and run and sit. Lots of bridges of different designs and art sprinkled all over without being overpowering. A nice aspect is the time that has been spent to make each section interesting, not only with plants but with the way the paths and bridges are laid out. Small touches like short boardwalks or ponds and streams used to effect add to the feel of a place that has been thoughtfully designed. Signage is reasonable without being obtrusive. It would be nice to have a little more information about the plants in the various areas. There is plenty of seating spread in parts of the park while other areas leave you to travel quite some distance if you want to sit for a break. Because the park is so large it can be quite a journey of you want to visit a particular area, depending on where you start. That said it can be a pleasant adventure discovering new areas as you go. I enjoy visiting whenever I am in Auckland as it is a pleasant opportunity to step away from the hustle of the city. Recommended.
Great place for a walk and just enjoy the gardens & park. The staff do a great job keeping up with the seasonal planting and maintenance. Good sized area dedicated to off leash for the dogs via Everglade Rd entrance. Cafe, if you love your coffee its hit & mis at best, but I'm fussy. Clean and dog friendly area outdoor tables.
Called in here Wednesday 12 September for a bit of a walk. Love all the different types of plants here. Magnolias would have to be my favorite. But also love the Bush walks in Totara Park too. Cant wait till my next visit.
Great park to chill around with plenty of Arts and flowers as well as theme gardens. It's free entry :) with water fountain to refill ur drinking water. Remember to respect d environment not to step on it and keep clean 😉 my favorite places once in free for visit ! After exploring still can chill in the cafe just near d entrance hall !
This is Spring time. Auckland botanical gardens are the pride of South Auckland. Very nicely kept and managed garden. Love to go there for a walk and fresh air.
