A fun place for families to visit while in Auckland, Butterfly Creek is a zoo of sorts! Although, it is more than a zoo, it is an entertainment centre! Within the premises is an aquarium, a Dinosaur kingdom, a tropical butterfly house, a bugs exhibit, a buttermilk farm and the Butterfly Creek is also home to turtles, monkeys, crocodiles, alligators, birds and dragons. There is a little train that circles the complex and also a playground for the kids to play in. The kids will have an amazing time exploring and you can even sit back and relax.

Butterfly Creek, Auckland Reviews - Write a Review
They were fantastic. They fetched our entire group of 6 people from the airport at no charge and stored our mountain of luggage while we were at the venue. The Restaurant is very reasonable, and the giant portions definitely hit the spot after a long flight, if you are battling to choose the Goldie burger is what you want. The kids had a blast, they loved the crocodile feeding. The dinousaur park was great. The farmyard animals section was really cool as the kids were allowed to pet the animals. Finally they took us back to the airport. Excellent service.
A great place to bring kids! Large enough to tire them out, and lots of cool stuff to see. We went as part of a preschool group. The cafe there isn't the cheapest, however, the food is excellent and the portions are large, so definitely worth it.
Shame this place is so far (next to the airport) as there is heaps to do, and you don't need to walk too far as it's conveniently set up. Butterflies, crocodiles, dinosaurs, and a farm -who would have known? the kids love it. We had our boy's 5th birthday at the dinosaur kingdom and it was fantastic!
Great day for the kids. Excellent dinosaur exhibit, farmyard and butterfly area. Restaurant with great selection and outdoor seating.
Only gave it a star as there isn't a lesser option. Food very mediocre - microwave heated (at least I suspect this as they we're tough as) Samosa - described as butter chicken but no sign of any chicken in either one- no yoghurt or condiment served and when I asked for something got plastic pot of "chutney". All food served on paper plates, salt and pepper in paper packets, plastic stirrers, Tom sauce in plastic disposable pots!! Come on this is a cafe charging city prices - at least get with the times and get rid of the unnecessary rubbish you are creating. Had to wipe bird poo of the seat before using (indoors) - service at counter when ordering was slow - carrying on other business without acknowledging we we're waiting - woman that did table service was friendly and helpful tho. Will not be returning...
