This historical village was quite nicely maintained. Although some features were unavailable, the setting of the village was interesting and intriguing. There are nice historical facts to know about the Maori people and the early settlers which was supported with olden day activities such as horse shoe throwing and attending a school. The concept is great! It would have been good to have a few seats here and there for those who cannot walk for a while. Certainly takes a good 1 hour to go through everything quickly.
beautiful restored village. Lovely and not very crowed. We stayed their for over 2h. Recommended!
Enjoyed taking my family here recently. Was extremely interesting. Awesome job
An outstanding living museum that has no equal in Auckland. Famed for its heritage live weekends. Recommended.
We spent a good few hours here with my 6 and 7 year old and could have stayed longer . Took our picnic lunch in and had it at one of the picnic tables in the village . Full of history and information . As it was the school holidays They had a holiday timetable of activities and kids can watch demonstrations etc and Kids got a look and find activity book . The staff were so friendly and helpful and we finished off with some cold beverages from the lovely cafe where the staff are also super and the food looked delicious. There is also a lovely gift store that is reasonably priced and stocks lovely things . I would really recommend this place to visit for all ages and it was our favourite outing of the school holidays .
