Sea Cow On The Bay, Auckland Reviews

  • The fish and chips are the best I've had in Auckland. Go with the battered version, snapper or market fish if it's a good one. The tartar sauce they serve in house is better than the take away version. Takeaway is a slightly smaller portions as well but cheaper. Service could be slightly more cheery.

  • Small fish shop. Fish is delicious and very affordable. Just ensure the staff member that takes your order, have it right. Couple of times they mistake grilled with battered. Weird, but it happens. No biggy. Still very nice fish.

  • The best seafood we had in N.Z. Their dishes had no fancy display, simply brought up the fresh seafood in perfect cook timing. The taste are genuine and delightful. Love it.

  • This is a difficult one for me. Hands down the best fish and chips in town, if you dine in. However, for takeaways, take your own salt or ask for some (there's no salt on the fish or chips), take your own lemon or ask for some, and lastly, take your own cutlery or ask for some. Now to make this 5 stars, all they need to do is add those three things, same as any other good takeaway and bob's your uncle.

  • Good solid fish & chips. Takeaway is $5 less but smaller portions and tartar sauce in a pack instead of house made.
