Tahuna Torea Reviews & Ratings
Nature in the city of Auckland, a wilderness reserve with different types of forest, 2 distinct wetlands, beach and mud flats. Walking the prepared boardwalk will take you to signposts for many indigenous plant species and over the year you may see up to 50 species of birds. You can see the remains of the Maori fish dams evidence of historic use of the lands.
Great mid- sized reserve with some nice walking/ running tracks. Most are flat and kid friendly. The upper circuit is good for views. Lots of native trees are named with information about them. Good bird life and a nice beach/estuary section too.
Picturesque scenery. Spotted a jellyfish and starfish. Walked along the sandbar and made it to Half Moon bay Marina!
Beautiful and quiet reserve with nice walks and bird sanctuary to watch. The Spit beach is particularly simple and quiet, ideal for a stroll or kids to paddle in the shallow waters in high tide. When the tide is low you can cross by the beach to the other side of the reserve.
Lovely reserve with woodland/pond trails and mangrove beach. Beautiful views of Half Moon Bay and Bucklands Beach.
