Viaduct Harbour - Review

The Viaduct Harbour is where the major commercial and entertainment places are located. The residential places at the harbour ooze luxury while the cruise tours are the obvious highlights.

The local attractions at the harbor including the museums, restaurants and the number of events taking place here, makes this a rather special neighborhood. The annual Louis Vuitton Regattas, Volvo Round, the World Race stopover, the Auckland International Boat show and New Zealand Fashion Week- all are synonymous to this place.

On other days, a walk here is perfect during sunset.

Viaduct Harbour, Auckland Reviews

  • Stayed in many hotels in the past 13 years but need to say this is the best hotel I ever stayed so far. Very professional, helpful and friendly staff. Spacious, clean and well maintained rooms. Special thanks to George at breakfast with his friendliness, always nice welcoming at breakfast. He makes my day start with a smile and I doesn’t feel so far away from home. Thank you Sofitel for all of you. Keep the good work up.

  • We found that it was wonderful, the staff was very conscientious and professional, room was lovely with a soft comfortable bed and a very clean environment. The bathrooms were modern and the facilities were well taken care of. The staff was very friendly and efficient and as we checked out the car valet parking was available as soon as we requested. The food was lovely at breakfast and the hotel is located close to all amenities and a good entertainment district.

  • We arrived for a birthday lunch and High Tea. Greeted and seated in the fantastic blend of stone walls and mesh curtains, sounds interesting but works well. We had the High tea and went with the Champagne option as well. the food was great, nice variety of savory and sweet. Check out the pictures, each Tier had enough for 3 people ( 2 of each item ) The cost was reasonable and quality was great. The setting is right by the water, they have a little "lock" outside so the water in the area around the restaurant it nice and full. Just outside are some very nice Boats parked up as well. Great high tea, would recommend.

  • On a work trip and was booked to stay at Sofitel as it was the closest to the office. This is my first time staying at Sofitel and I was not let down! Received a very warm welcome as soon as the taxi arrived, the staff clearly guided me where I needed to go - which was great as I did not have a clue! I had asked if I could get an early check-in as i arrived mid morning. Not unusually they said they will try, but can not promise anything. But upon arrival they had a room ready so I could go, freshen up and unpack. During my check-in they had asked about my visit and I had said I'll be working very late nights most of they stay, returning late in the evening or early in the morning. Returning so late at night never was an issue, there was always someone there to warmly welcome me. Every time I returned to my room, the curtains where closed and the lights where dimmed. There was a relaxing chamomile tea beside the bed. These little touches made the stay stand out for me! Because of the nature of my stay I only got to use the restaurant for breakfast. The food was lovely, great coffee and again warm and welcoming staff! My trip was been comfortable and gone so smoothly, and honestly - a lot of that is thanks to Sofitel!

  • We had a really great time at the Sofitel. All the staff we encountered were cheerful, helpful and pleasant. The room was well laid out and very comfortable. If I was to find any fault (and I'm struggling) is the bathroom light switch is on the outside of the bathroom meaning it was hard to go discreetly at night without lighting up half of the room. Also it would be nice if the sound system had Bluetooth connectivity. Those however are both very minor things and would not in the slightest dissuade me from going back.
