Phinizy Swamp Nature Park Reviews & Ratings
I can't wait to go back and explore this gem! So many trails and environments with educational opportunities abounding. I saw a wider range of visitors- genders, colors, solo and groups , runners, walkers, amblers. Families - than I can even remember seeing. Spotless.
The walk is at your own pace to stop & look at the turtles, fish, birds, snakes, etc. We did not see any river otters but could see the dams they have built. We visited on a Sunday & had few other people there beside us. We enjoyed the elevated walk around the swamp nature trail. It was beautiful & relaxing. If we lived in Augusta we would make it a regular spot to go for a walk. It would be easy for someone in a wheelchair to experience this trail also. We live in Montana & foung this unique & totally different than what we would find in Montana.
It's amazing, I just went their with a group of my friends for a school field trip, it is wonderful the water feels so good. I am definitely going back to visit❤❤❤
pretty place. Very scenic and nice for a walk. Bring bug spay, sunscreen, and water. Nice kids' playground. Needs some upkeep... Holes on the boardwalk and extremely overgrown plants blocked the observation deck entrance
Took the Full Moon Swamp Hike. Clouds lifted and the full moon did permit plenty of light as we saw a few gators in the water. Too many people in our group (20) for the (1) guide to control and know he was speaking to ensure everyone heard comments during the hike. In fact, he said very little and it was like we were on a road march the majority of the hike. Kids equipped with flashlights left them “on” the entire time and we were blinded with white-light often -as parents or the guide said nothing. The hike no longer takes you past the old graveyard as it once did. Disappointing to be honest.
