Point San Luis Lighthouse Reviews & Ratings
Very nice area and informative tour. Fun ride/shuttle up/down the hill to get to the lighthouse with great views. Well kept and maintained grounds. Quaint and charming ambience. Could have spent the whole day there admiring the surroundings.
Hike or shuttle to lighthouse. Narrow road but worth the look. Interesting history. Very nice tour.
This is an amazing place to visit, learn some history watch done wildlife like fox, chayote, whale, dolphins, seals, see otters etc. Just get on the hike or the trolley and enjoy the views.
Take the tour if you can! Definitely a small gem of a place. The beautiful and peaceful scenery is a great escape from the city and a great stop to learn the coastal marine history.
You can take a $10(each-way) trolley or take a free hike with a very friendly and knowledgeable docent, up to the Point San Luis Lighthouse. The actual "working-light" isn't housed in the lighthouse any longer. Current technology has it perched up on a building, near the lighthouse, and powered by solar panels. The original non-working Fresnel lens is featured inside the lighthouse building. Learn the story about the keeper and his family, and life in the lighthouse. Parking is free and there is a $5 fee for the lighthouse tour and short video. Interesting story with a breathtaking backdrop.
