During the days that Aiya Napa was merely a fishing village, the monastery here was the only thing worth any tourist excitement. It was built in the sixteenth century. It provides quite a stark contrast from the general mood of the rest of Aiya Napa though it’s only a few minutes’ walk away from some of the raunchier nightclubs. It’s cool, and calm and tranquil, and the church. Welcoming you to the church is a large 600-year-old sycamore tree that’s almost as prominent a sight as any you’ll find Aiya Napa. If you can take a break from the beach and clubbing activities, try and catch the morning service at the church. Its light yet grand, and you’ll probably want to shop for replicas of the paintings you see inside. Oh, and you can get married here.
