Hotels don’t normally qualify as tourist attractions, but this one is actually more of a homestay, and can fill a hole you didn’t know existed in your Beziers’ trip. The chateau has been owned by the same family since 1828. Today, they run it as a cute little B&B. The highlights are:

• The wine cellar containing wine from 11 different kinds of grape.
• A small but charming ceramics museum in the stables.
• A farm produce store.
• A hundred year old garden and wine yard.

The rooms and bathrooms are large, and beautifully lighted and decorated. Your hosts are Jean (painter) and Christine (ceramist) and Gustav and Marie (the current managers) and their two children (who are adorable). Do have dinner with the hosts and the other guests.

• You’ll have to drive here, or be dropped by taxi.
