Ananda Pahto: Ananda Pahto is the biggest festival in Bagan. The two-week long festival takes place on the day of full moon of Pyatho, during which monks from around the world come together to get alms from the locals. The festival is observed in the month of January.
Thingyan Festival: Also known as the water festival, Thingyan Festival in Bagan marks the Burmese New Year. Taking place during the time of mid-April after the dry season, water gets splashed on everyone from all the directions symbolizing the fact that they are cleansed of their sins.
Thadingyut Festival: Observed during the full moon day of the Burmese Lunar month of Thadingyut (October), Thandingyut Festival or The Festival of lights is celebrated to welcome the Buddha's descent. It is one of the widely celebrated festivals in the whole of Myanmar.
